Well hello all you fellow design lovers – Deb and Andy here! We’re popping in to share a little more about our journey, as well as to give you another sneak peek into our brand new reality renovation series, DNA of Design.

From The Block to now, we’ve been as busy as ever. Between this exciting new series, and Andy’s one-liners, there’s no slowing down as we’ve been working hard on bringing so many new and fresh ideas to the table.

Sharing our reno and design knowledge with all of you is what keeps us going – and we couldn’t be more grateful for all the ongoing support.

Whether you’ve been following us since our Block days, or you’ve just hopped onto the Deb-and-Andy bandwagon, there may be a few things that you didn’t know about us. Keep reading to find out more, as well as an exciting look at what you can expect to see on DNA of Design.

THE DYNAMIC DUO

Most of you were probably introduced to us back in 2019 in what was considered the biggest Block ever – and what a journey that was. We loved our time on the show, and after so much encouragement from those around us, we knew that this was something we just had to pursue.

On The Block, we found ourselves up against some very challenging conditions, yet we’re proud that we still managed to make a mark with our fun-loving attitude, humour and styling.

Deb

During The Block, my trademark coastal styling evoked emotion, and on one occasion, reduced judge Shaynna Blaze to tears of joy! She loved my eye for design so much, that she encouraged me to pursue a path in professional interior design – and I did just that. I’m proud to say that I’ve completed my studies as of 2022, making me a professional Interior Decorator/Stylist.

Andy

Before The Block, you might have seen this face popping up around the Melbourne comedy circuit. I’ve performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, as well as a few other comedy tours around the world. I’m proud of my heritage as an Australian Aboriginal from Biripi country, which is beautiful Taree. It’s safe to say I’m a bit of a whizz with numbers, and I’ll always find a way to improve a floor plan or two – along with supplying the laughs. Everyone needs a little pick-me-up, right?

THE COUNTDOWN HAS BEGUN...

Okay, it’s official – just seven days to go until DNA of Design launches! We couldn’t be more excited to be able to finally start this countdown with you. Not long now until you’ll get to watch the full series for free on our YouTube channel.

House One is our first project. It follows us in Mudgeeraba, Queensland, where we’re turning an 80’s hinterland Gold Coast home into a coastal contemporary retreat.

Focused on using practical reno knowledge, you’ll watch as we transform everything from the kitchen and lounge, to the garden and pool – all while giving you heaps of insight and inspiration, with plenty of laughs, of course.
